Xtra Points: Dreamcast Collection and Xperimentation

Some are winners, some are losers…

Xtra Points, when I gather topics that do not warrant there own post, but when I need an avenue to Xpress my thoughts and opinions.  This edition I will briefly discuss the merits of the Dreamcast Collection, the fates of Nier and Bayonetta, and addition of a new game to the fold.

I am a lover of the Sega Dreamcast, but I am not sure if I am a lover of Sega’s Dreamcast Collection which is due out this Tuesday.  I certainly found that Sonic Adventure and Crazy Taxi’s best days have long past, but I am curious about Space Channel 5 Part II and Sega Bass Fishing.  I never played SC5 Part II and I do have a spot in my heart for Sega’s arcade fishing titles.  I think I may bite on this and hope that the next Dreamcast Collection is something special!

As for the rest of the Xtra Points:

  • I recently put the kybosh on a couple of failed gaming experiments, Nier and Bayonetta.  I have been known in the past to be influenced into buying games from podcasters.  These are two examples of that, fortunately I spent little time and little money experimenting with these two games.  They have both found new homes elsewhere.
  • Out with the old, in with the new.  I found that Singularity was available from EB Games on the cheap.  While I have not tried it as of yet, I am interested to see what it is all about.  I have heard good things in the past, but as always, I will be the judge of that.

As usual, never a dull moment, never enough free time, but that doesn’t stop me from continuing to Xplore the games that are out there.
