When I got home today from a night away from home I had a message from TormentX awaiting me in regards to a list of games that SEGA is to announce at this years Tokyo Game Show. While not confirmed it is certinly very exciting to me; it is also the first sign in a long time of SEGA’s return to its former glory. Here is some of my personal highlights from the list:
First the biggest news of them all! Not only would we see the groundbreaking final chapter in the Shenmue series w/ the release of Shenmue 3, but the re-release of the first two games titled Shenmue I & II Plus. This is huge! I have been waiting for the conclusion of this series for years! With improvements made for the next-gen systems this series will be a winner. I really hope this particular rumour is true.
Jet Set Radio Next – I played the previous versions in this series (DC and Xbox) through and through, each was excelent in its own right. A next-gen succesor would blow the roof off this one!
Those above titles have me really excited, but there are a few others that will be great editions. Here is a quick round up:
Fighters Megamix 2
The House of the Dead 4
…and last but not least, the previously announced Virtua Fighter 5 and SEGA Rally Revo
After several years of suspect publishing, SEGA may be back on track! Stay tuned over the following months to see how this all plays out!
