360 X-Press #18: The Snap-shot Edition

Xbox Live Vision

It’s good to see you!  Well, at least it will be as it looks like the 360 digital camera that we have been promised for so long now has a date.  Accordind to Major Nelson’s blog cast which aired this past Sunday, the Xbox Live Vision camera peripheral will hit the streets September 19th in both North America and Europe.  Now you will not only be able to chat with friends but see them as well!  I think this will only cause more moments of hilarity, also it may not now be not as good an idea to get to drunk and play Live (lol).  Most of us already have a camera-enabled game in UNO, now Cru can see me give him the finger when he drop’s me a "Pick 4" card!  We are not done with this camera yet…

Rainbow Six: Vegas

World Series of Poker: Tournament of Champions, Totem Ball, Untitled Pinball Game, and Rainbow Six: Vegas will all make use of the camera plus much more!  Imagine playing Rainbow with your buddies and it is actually them!  Also it may make your adversarial games a little more intense.  Xbox Live Vision is on my shopping list already as it should be on yours, because after all I think it would be good to see you.

What else is new and exciting from SG’s point of view:

  • I have ben checking out the Shadowrun forum’s recently.  Shadowrun was recently announced at E3 as one of MSG premier titles for the new year launching simultaniously on 360and Vista and is bases upon the pen and paper RPG series.  Apparently a lot of people are very disturbed that a) Microsoft is re-writing the ‘cannon’ and b) It is no longer an RPG but a Team-based FPS!  I am interested to see what happans with this IP, will it be rejected or embraced in the end.  What do you think?
  • Rockstar Games Presents: Table Tennis is a winner!  Hopefully a Marketplace demo will be made available for thos e who did not take the plunge.
  • The Dashboard Update is nearly here!  Check this link for all the details
  • Next game purchase: Moto GP’06
  • Slowly chipping away at Oblivion
  • Once again, where are my GRAW downloads?

That is all for now, until next time play some UNO and stay frosty!

I like CFL Football, Video Games, and Social Media....so here I am!

  1. Brad says:

I need to a price check on the camera. Hopefully it wont be over $50. Hell maybe it will come with a free game (Texas Hold ‘Em anyone?) Kinda like my XBL starter kit came with Blazing Angels.

  2. Aaron says:

Shadowrun looks …ok,  but I need to see more for it to peek my intrest…………..See you on the track !

  3. SCHUEY F1 says:

The camera will be cool and I agree with BD, I hope the price is reasonable.  With Shadowrun I was hoping for a kick-ass single player experience.  The 360 is flooded with FPS’s and I’m sure I’ll be playing Gears or Halo 3 instead of Shadowrun.  Bring on the update!

  4. I says:

The camera is interesting…but I’m with you, where the heck is my new GRAW stuff?!?!  lol

  5. Wayne says:

I will be getting this camera as long as it has a reasonable price. The downside will be, no more playing Live in my underwear, lol.
Note to BD, I believe that Texas Hold ’em is going to be a free download from Arcade when it is released.

  6. Debbie says:

I am not the most talkative person online, I keep my mic off most of the time, but I am curious about the camera. Mainly to use it with RS.Can you imagine how it will be? Awesome!!!*enjoy the weekend*

  7. Sean R. says:

I dunno about the camera yet.  I’ll have to make sure I’m nice and presentable every time I use it. Plus I can be pretty expressive when things go wrong and I don’t people seeing me freak out let alone hearing it.
More importantly though is I want the new GRAW stuff.  I hope they hurry up with it.
